Catholic Charities summer camp makes a differenceBONITA SPRINGS | The 40 children who participate in the summer camp at St. Leo the Great Parish would probably have nowhere else to go if volunteers and workers did not dedicate their time and love to the program. The Hispanic children, ages 5-10, are from impoverished homes where both parents must work, and being home alone is not a safe alternative for them. Hispanic Services of Catholic Charities project manager Martha Vivas said the program focuses on providing each child with basic socialization, language and problem-solving skills.
