Asleep in the chapel
ED FOSTER JR. | FC
LUTZ | When Bishop Robert N. Lynch made a visit to Bethany Center March 21 to observe construction of the chapel at the diocese’s new retreat center, there was an unexpected visitor present – a sleeping owl. According to the contractor’s project superintendent, Bruce Johnson, a window of the chapel’s cupola was left ajar for ventilation during the previous night. When he arrived on the morning of the bishop’s visit, he discovered the uninvited visitor. The chapel is due for completion in early May, so it’s rather certain that a homily was not to blame for the owl’s nap.
