DIRECTOR OF MUSIC

St. John the Evangelist in Viera, a young parish of approximately 2,000 families, seeks a full-time Director of Music. Responsibilities include: planning weekend liturgies, holy days, funerals, weddings; and directing, scheduling and rehearsing with choirs and cantors. Current ensembles include an adult choir, contemporary choir and youth choir. Also included are seasonal liturgies, parish missions, religious education liturgies and sacramental preparation sessions. Minimum qualifications: Applicant must have a minimum of a BA in music, have a thorough understanding and appreciation of Roman Catholic liturgy, and possess excellent skills on both piano and organ. Ability to work flexible schedule and have good interpersonal skills is required.
