George W. Cayer, 77

Father John Cayer’s father dies unexpectedly in Fort Walton Beach.

George W. Cayer, 77, father of Father John Cayer, died unexpectedly March 7 in Fort Walton Beach. Born March 31, 1931, in Bristol, Conn., he was the seventh child of nine. In 1954, he married Rosalind Shakinski in Torrington, Conn. He moved his family to Maine in 1966, then to Florida in 1974. Read the complete obituary HERE.

Dominican Sister Helene Burns, 86

Sister Burns was principal of Sacred Heart School in Pensacola from 1958 to 1962.

Adrian Dominican Sister Helene Burns, formerly known as Sister James Mary Burns, died Feb. 4 at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Mich. She was 86 and in the 68th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican congregation. Read the complete obituary HERE.
