Food bank opens

PENSACOLA | Justin Oehmsen, an employee of the Bay Area Food Bank, pulls a pallet full of canned goods into the facility on opening day, Oct. 23. Operated by the food bank in partnership with the St. Vincent de Paul Society conference at St. Paul Parish in Pensacola, the new distribution site is in Century’s old Carver School. It will save individuals from driving 30 to 50 miles each way to pick up food. Groups who wish to receive Bay Area Food Bank orders at the Century distribution site should contact the food bank at 850-995-1233 or e-mail Marcus Ditty at mditty@bayareafoodbank.org.
