Ricard, SSJ, blesses the baptismal font during the dedication of St. Sylvester Parish’s new church July 13. “Our motto was ‘Pray, Build, Celebrate,’” said the pastor, Father John Kelly, “and we’ve done a lot of praying, we’ve done a lot of sacrificing and building. Diocesan capital campaign begins in 16 more parishes

Janice Pentz has seen some hard times. Widowed with eight children between the ages of 9 and 18 in 1980, she said that God was always there for her and she’s happy to be giving back.

Pentz serves as one of the co-chairwoman for the capital campaign “Sharing the Vision – Growing in Faith” at St. Margaret of Scotland Parish in DeFuniak Springs. “I think it’s important to do something constructive to keep the church going in northwest Florida. I want the church to be here for all our children.
