Feast of St. Francis is a blessing for pets

PORT ST. LUCIE AND BOYNTON BEACH | Devotions to St. Francis of Assisi were held across the world this month and locally in the Diocese of Palm Beach, honoring the founder of the worldwide Franciscan family.

“All of the Franciscan parishes in this diocese were given permission to celebrate St. Francis instead of the Mass of ordinary time,” said Franciscan Father Samuel Zebron, parochial vicar of St. Mark Parish in Boynton Beach about the weekend of Oct. 3-4, the saint’s feast day and also the 27th Sunday in ordinary time, a feast day of the Lord.
