A special monstrance for a special year

PALM BEACH GARDENS | Father Yves Francois gazes upon the Eucharist as he places the monstrance that was blessed for the Americas by Pope John Paul II on the altar at the Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola Oct. 28. The monstrance was received recently in the Diocese of Palm Beach and will be used for celebrations, Eucharistic adoration and holy hour events in all parishes during the diocese’s 25th anniversary year.

BOYNTON BEACH | Jeannie Taylor snuggles close to Morris after the gentle feline received his blessing on the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The earthly saint’s poem, the “Canticle of the Sun,” praised God for all of the creatures on earth. His motto was “My God and my all.”
