‘Our Mother’s Attic’ resale shop now open in Wildwood

WILDWOOD | St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Wildwood last fall opened Our Mother’s Attic — A Home Décor Resale Shop, an outreach project for those in need.

After looking at various spaces for the shop in the Wildwood area, a committee of volunteers decided on a vacant store at 115 S. Main St. (U.S. 301).

“The building is old and needed a lot of cleaning, painting and general work,” said volunteer coordinator Hannah Martin. She credits the volunteers, the support of Father Peter Sagorski, pastor, and the parish with the creation of a showroom for the many donations of “gently used” furniture, home furnishings and home décor, which are sold to the general public and to those in need, at reasonable cost.

The receipts of the store are then disbursed through parish programs for community needs.

Linens, electronic equipment and small appliances are also available and donations of like items are welcome. Clothing is not accepted because of limited storage space. A portion of Our Mother’s Attic has been set aside for use as an adjunct food pantry for the St. Vincent de Paul outreach program.

Donated items of furniture, small appliances and nonperishable food may be dropped off during store hours: Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To arrange pickup of large items, call the shop at 352- 689-0128.
