SCHEDULE OF PET BLESSINGSSATURDAY OCTOBER 6 9 a.m., St. Charles Borromeo, Orlando, in front of the church. 10 a.m., Our Saviour, Cocoa Beach. 10 a.m., St. Patrick, Mount Dora, near the statue of St. Francis. 10 a.m., St. Clare, Deltona. SUNDAY OCTOBER 7 1:15 p.m., St. Margaret Mary, Winter Park, courtyard between church and family life center, off Park Avenue. 3-5 p.m., Most Precious Blood, at Lawton Chiles Middle School, Oviedo. 4 p.m., Corpus Christi, Celebration, at North Village Pavilion. 6 p.m., Blessed Sacrament, Cocoa. Churches and schools throughout the Diocese of Orlando are honoring the memory of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology, by conducting animal blessings. Corpus Christi Parish in Celebration will host its second annual blessing of the pets Oct. 7, at Celebration’s North Village Pavilion, beginning at 4 p.m. Last year’s event was well attended. "This will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our animal friends," said Father Gregory Parkes, pastor, and chancellor of canonical affairs for the diocese.
