INDIATLANTIC | The hurricanes of 2004 destroyed the social hall and original sanctuary and damaged many other buildings at Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Indialantic on the east coast of the diocese.

Parishioners knew it was time for more than just repairs. In fall 2005, the parish initiated a capital campaign, "Share the Vision," to improve the entire campus.

The parish plans a three-phase project. A 19,000-square-foot Athletic Center is in the final stages of completion and will soon provide retreat facilities in addition to a full-size basketball court and locker rooms.

Slated for completion after Easter of 2008 is a 45,000-square-foot Life Center, offering a large hall, stage, kitchen, school cafeteria, administrative offices, youth ministry, child development center and meeting rooms.

Site plans also include a new and safer traffic pattern, upgraded utilities and additional parking.

Father David Page, pastor, said: "Share the Vision is a good example of the cooperation of all segments of the community. While we have many and a variety of ministries we are excited about the many possibilities these new facilities will provide."

Tanya Goodman of the Florida Catholic staff contributed to this report.
