![]() MARLENE QUARONI | FC Gifts for the VirginMIAMI | Schoolchildren from St. Mary Cathedral School in Miami celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe Dec. 12 by bringing baby gifts to be distributed to women in crisis pregnancies by the North Dade Respect Life Office. The Mass at St. Mary Cathedral also marked the start of the Marian pilgrimage in honor of the archdiocese’s 50th anniversary. An icon of Our Lady of Guadalupe, sent from the Basilica in Mexico, was presented to representatives of the northernmost parish in the archdiocese, Mary Help of Christians in Parkland. Another icon, also sent from Mexico, already had arrived in the southernmost parish, St. Mary Star of the Sea in Key West. Both icons will travel throughout the year to the archdiocese’s parishes, stopping for about a week in each one until reuniting again next Oct. 8 at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise for the Mass marking the conclusion of the jubilee year. To find out where the icons will be during the coming year, go to www.marianpilgrimage.org.
