OBITUARYSister Doris Ann Gentry, worked at Madonna AcademyBALTIMORE | Sister Doris Ann Gentry, a School Sister of Notre Dame who spent nine years as administrator at Madonna Academy in Hollywood, died Dec. 1 in Baltimore at age 78. Sister Gentry, born April 24, 1929, made her first vows in July 1951 and began a teaching and administrative career that would span six decades. After stints at schools in Providence, R.I., Caguas, Puerto Rico, and Baltimore, Md., she moved to Hollywood in 1968 and spent nine years as an administrator at Madonna Academy for girls, which later merged with Chaminade High School for boys. She moved back to Baltimore in 1979 and continued teaching until 1995 when she began ministry at Caroline Center, a non-profit organization founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame that helps unemployed and underemployed women.
