‘Fired up’ and ready to goMore than 500 educators attend seminar at St. Thomas University.
Seminar keynote speaker, Joseph A. Iannone, Ph.D., speaks of the process of encountering Christ and bringing that ‘fire’ to others through religious education. MIAMI GARDENS | Hundreds of religious educators from around the archdiocese filled the chapel and plaza of St. Thomas University Nov. 3 to attend the annual catechetical seminar and expo, “Encountering the Living Christ.” ![]() DANIEL SOÑÉ | FC The objective of the seminar and expo was to help religious educators teach better by “Encountering the Living Christ” themselves. Morning prayers were led by Archbishop John C. Favalora, who told the attendees that they “have one of the hardest and most important jobs in the church.” The seminar’s keynote speaker, Joseph A. Iannone of St. Thomas University, spoke of how religious education is bringing the love of Christ and “fire” of the Holy Spirit to others.
