MIAMI | Young people from throughout the archdiocese gathered at St. Mary Cathedral Oct. 21 to celebrate the annual Mass for World Missions Sunday. In addition to students from Catholic elementary and high schools, a group of home-schooled students dressed up as famous missionary saints. Archbishop John C. Favalora presided at the celebration. From left, homeschoolers Andrea Santos, Katherine Suner, Maria Isabel Soñé, Alexander Pinto, Joseph Bello and Juan David Santos, dressed as famous Catholic missionaries, pose for a photo with Sister Juana Maria Sanchez, a member of the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary who coordinates the work of the Holy Childhood Association in the archdiocese, and Father Jean Pierre, director of the missions office.
